Cairn rules
We're playing Cairn (2e specifically). It's back-compatible with 1e. Cairn 2e is available for free online.
The ruleset is relatively light and simple. Interested players should be aware of a few key elements:
- All attacks hit. Roll for damage, not to hit.
- No classes. Backgrounds determine knowledge and possessions. Magic is cast through spellbooks, scroll, and relics.
- Level-less character progression. Growth is usually triggered by diegetic events or by downtime training rather than by accumulating XP.
Character creation
You can create your character by hand or use a tool to generate one. Please use vanilla content only. You may either use the regular Cairn 2e (with Background) or the Barebones edition (no Background) procedures.
